Dovecot復活 - agwの日記

Plagger + Publish::Maildir + IMAP4 + Apple Mailという組み合わせでRSSフィードリーダ環境を構築していたのですが、先日から以下のようなメッセージを多発し、ほとんど動作しなくなってしまっていました。

May 17 20:54:42 hostname dovecot: IMAP(username): Disconnected for inactivity

多分にDovecotの認証周辺に原因があるのでしょうが、よい機会であったため、Dovecotをv1.0 beta5からv1.0 beta8にアップデートしました。

Mac OS XでのDovecotのインストールは驚くほど簡単です。

本家からソースコードを取得
展開してビルド
doc/mkcert.shを適用
dovecot-example.confからdovecot.confを作成

必要があれば、launchdの設定もします。

しかし、結局最新版を適用してもApple Mailからのアクセスは不安定であったため、protocolsをimapのみの指定としました。下記はdovecot-example.confとの差分です。

以前はprotocolsにimap imaps pop3 pop3sを指定していましたので、リビジョン等が原因ではなく、設定に原因があったのだと思います。

ローカル環境からの接続のみを想定した運用ですが、imapsを用いず、ssl_disable = yesと設定している現状はあまりよくないと思っているので、今後の課題です。
